Specialist Speakers-

Jim Poulter-
Aboriginal Historian and author  from Templestowe taught the artists about song lines, meeting places, fire-stick farming. Catching eels and ducks in the Yarra River,  and ancient ways of storing food. He also spoke about the totems of the area such as the eagle Bunjil and his own family connection to Indigenous Australians.

Ian Penrose-
The Yarra River Keeper spoke to the artists about early settlement on the Yarra River in Melbourne. He also explained about the source of the Yarra where it starts at the top of Mount Gregory. He also provided graphic images of the epic flood in 1952. Ian also spoke about the importance of caring for the river and the animals that inhabit its environment. 

Tina Konstantinidis- 
Frog Specialist currently working for Parks Victoria in Warragul, Victoria.
Tina's love for frogs is infectious, her presentation connects with everyone - as the so many of us enjoy ithe special sounds of frogs on rainy evenings and around waterholes and rivers.

Griff Ward-
Local Environmentalist and passionate historian of the local area of Warburton.


Director Jeminah Alli Reidy works with Simon Oats in planning the modern song line, the sequence of the story, song, music, installation and performance that lead the audience around the circuit path on the day of performance.

Scenes on the Yarra acknowledges the traditional owners of the Yarra River and its environs, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
