Cloud-Catchers make a River of Mists
Up on the Central Highlands of Victoria, great Mountain Ash Forests collect precipitation (i.e. they Catch Clouds) and feed water into streams that meet to create Birrarung,The Yarra, River of Mists. These forests are our water catchments, Cloud-Catchers, vital in providing clean fresh water for us to drink and irrigate our farms. Home to cute and furry creatures such as the Leadbeater's Possum (almost extinct), many of these great forests are being cut down despite the key role they play in providing us water and a home for wildlife. It is time to save our Cloud-Catchers. In this installation Bunjil The Creator of this Land gives water to the clouds and the Cloud-Catchers, with which they make the streams and river.
