I worked for 8 years as a full time sculptor, beginning as a commercial artist, then pursuing my own work in an art-in-nature style. In the last several years I have branched out into music performance, direction and teaching, as well as tiny house building projects.
1997-2000 Commercial sculpture – e.g. Underwater world, Lord of the Rings
2001-2005 Apprenticeship with Environmental artist Chris Booth (NZ)
2005-present Music projects – performed in various world music ensembles playing clarinet and saxophone, including at Woodford Folk Festival, Brisbane Multicultural festival, Brisbane Powerhouse, Canberra Multicultural Festival.
My creative work is inspired by ecological processes and the deeper relationships between humanity and wild nature. Drawing on scientific observation and the wellspring of creative evolution, my art - both sculptural works and music improvisations – reflect simplicity, awareness of the natural world, and a sensitivity to environmental processes.
