Trevor Flinn - Stonemason / Garbageman
I will be working with stone and rubbish in my two pronged response to Herring Island.
The first part of my contribution will tap into the basalt mining origins of Herring Island; while also referencing Andy Goldsworthy's use of Grampians sandstone.
I will be positioned at the western end of the island, and for the first part of the event will be quietly working on a piece of Grampians sandstone; using a piece of fossicked basalt as a grinding tool.
I will also make an appearance as a mobile garbage man, and will be attempting to sell a selection of reworked flotsam and jetsam to the audience as they wait to leave the island.
